At WellSpan, our aim is to be on the national forefront of nursing advancement, innovation, and workforce solutions to support and accelerate the future of nursing. And it’s why our passion for nursing extends well beyond the walls of our hospitals to create remarkable moments for our patients every day.

Our nursing teams are embracing strategies which enhance the education and development of the bedside nurse as well as nurses in our ambulatory and home care settings, leveraging artificial intelligence for improved and efficient decision-making, and integrating new, alternate educational models for professionals in their pursuit of a lasting career in nursing.

We are actively committed to making significant investments in our nursing workforce to solve for the staffing challenges of our healthcare industry. And we’re focusing our investments in healthcare programs designed to offer development opportunities and alternate educational models for our team members as well as aspiring healthcare professions to support a successful career in nursing. It’s all part of our goal to retain and attract talented, engaged nursing professionals.

Our commitment to our nursing teams and their professional growth is underscored by our affiliation with Jersey College to establish Jersey College’s School of Nursing at WellSpan Health – a hospital-based school of nursing program in York County.

Our collaborative program supports: • Early career individuals pursuing a career in nursing. • WellSpan team members looking to advance their career in nursing. • Other tenured professionals seeking a career change.

Our new school offers a non-traditional, stackable credentialing approach and professional track to earn an associate degree in nursing in as little as 2 years – all with the benefits of a hospital-based diploma program. Students will receive hands-on, diverse experience at the initial clinical site of WellSpan York Hospital, with the ability to utilize all WellSpan acute care facilities. Plus, tuition assistance opportunities are available for both WellSpan team members as well as non-WellSpan individuals for those who qualify.

Our school’s inaugural class starts on Aug. 26, 2024, with the campus location at the WellSpan Education Center at 1409 Williams Road in York. Learn about our program and find details about the enrollment and admissions process at JerseyCollege.edu/WellSpan.
